Most people are divided into two groups. Those who have pets and those who dream about them. Dogs, cats, rats, fish, Guiney pigs and many other animals can now be pets. They are different and require a special care, but all of them love you and become your lifelong friends.

Dogs are funny and faithful. Most of them are very active, so you won’t get bored. Cats are sensitive, but a little bit selfish. They are the animals that love comfort and sleep. Cats will hardly go for a walk with you and get dirty in the first puddle they see.

However, cats and dogs are considered to be ordinary pets now, because many people get themselves exotic pets. They may be snakes, huge snails, raccoons and even lemurs! It is so exciting to have one of these animals at home.

But these modern pets create more problems than an ordinary dog or a cat. They are wilder and their behaviour is unpredictable. For example, raccoons tend to be naughty and usually steal or damage things. Furthermore, exotic animals won’t eat dog or cat food which can easily be bought in any supermarket.

If you want a snake, be ready to buy mice and feed them to your favourite pet. Not everyone has the courage to do it! So you should think twice before getting an exotic pet. Read carefully the information about how to care about it.

Anyway, a pet is always a good idea. Pets make you feel better and give you much love! But don’t forget to love them, too.

To have a pet at home is a very good thing. And it is not important what pet you have. You may have a dog, a cat, a hamster, a parrot or a fish. The most popular pets are cats and dogs.

A cat is good for a small flat, and if you live in a big flat or a house you can keep a dog. It’s much simpler to have a cat because you don’t have to walk a cat every day.

Dogs are best friends of people. These animals are very clever and understand you very well. But you must remember that keeping a dog in a flat is not that easy. You need to walk it two or three times a day. So, you have to get up earlier in the morning and it also takes time to feed the dog. Dogs are hairy animals and they have a specific smell. Nevertheless, dogs are wonderful animals. I love dogs.

People usually keep hamsters, rats, mice and rabbits. These animals are rather easy to look after. These animals are funny, but all they do is eating.

Some people love birds like parrots, for example. They live in a cage. I love big birds and parrots but there is no space for them in our flat.

I do not understand fish as a pet. I just don’t see the point in it. You cannot touch it. Besides keeping fish is rather difficult and expensive. One should be a real fish lover to have such pets.

As for me, I have a cat. Its name is Vasya. It’s 3 years old. I brought him from the street. Our flat is rather small so a cat is the best variant for us. It is a small animal so it can lie on my laps and sleep in my bed or on the sofa. It is so fluffy, tender and warm! I love when Vasya is purring with pleasure. It’s the best animal for me. I like playing with Vasya. He is very cheerful and very funny. My cat is always very active during the second part of the day, closer to the evening time. He runs around, jumps, hangs on curtains, spoils wallpaper. My mom doesn’t like this, but what can we do - it’s an animal! He likes to eat fish and drink milk every day.

I am thinking of having a snail. I saw a girl on TV who has snails. It’s a very original pet and quite easy in keeping.

So, you can choose any pet. But you just must love it!

In my house lives the cat. It name is Murzik. I like my cat very much. It’s funny and cute and we spend a lot of time playing together. I like to take care about it and how it purrs to thank me for the kindness.

The cat sleeps in my room and every morning Murzik wakes up a little bit earlier than me and it always wakes me up in the morning. When I get up and go to wash up, it follows me to the bathroom. During the breakfast, the cat also seats near me and I always give it secretly from my mother something delicious from the table. When I go to school it sees me off to the door. And when I come back it meets me back at home.

My cat loves sleeping on the armchair in my room and considers that it is its legitimate place. When someone sits down in that armchair it gets nervous and can even scratch the invader to defend the territory. So I always alert my friends that it"s dangerous to sit on this armchair. It still loves sleeping on my laptop thus protecting it from strangers. Murzik also has a lot of toys with which it plays. And if it gets bored it walks up to me and calls me with its paw to play with it.

As a representative of the cat family and a detachment of predators Murzik loves hunting for flies and mosquitoes that accidentally fly into our apartment. Very often fragile things suffer from hunting in our apartment.

I like cats because they are attached to people and also very affectionate.

I like animals very much, that’s why I’d like tell about my home pet. This is a small cat, her name is Penny and she has no breed. She was presented to me by my friends and it was the most adorable gift I’ve ever had.

She is not fat and grand, she`s just 4 months old. She is grey and white with a black spot on the chin, which looks like a small beard. Her eyes are green, her ears, paws and nose are rose. My cat is cute and fluffy, so it`s very pleasant to touch her. When Penny is in a good mood she always purrs.

Penny doesn`t like to stay alone. She misses me and when I come she runs up, wags with the tail and asks me to take her in my arms. She always follows me from one room to another: we cook, clean, wash the dishes, play computer games and sleep together. She likes sleeping. Usually she finds soft, warm and clean place and lies down there. She is very sociable and likes guests. When I invite somebody to my flat, Penny usually greets and welcomes them.

My cat has some favorite toys: a rubber ball, a scratching post and a mouse-toy. Penny likes running, jumping on sofas, tables, chairs and window sills and sometimes she can be very noisy. She is mad about fish and meat, that’s why when she sees the food she cries loudly and asks to treat her aggressively. She likes sitting in my bag and gnawing my headphones when I do my work. Now I buy the cheapest analogues to avoid any wastes.

Some cats walk outdoors, but I don’t let my cat to walk down the streets, because it is very dangerous. Penny could be attacked by dogs, other cats, cars or people. There are many people who don’t like animals (they kick, poison or even kill animals) and I want my cat to be safe and alive.

I love my cat and I hope she loves me too. In my opinion, she is my best friend and she can keep secrets.

My favorite animal

One of my favorite animals is cougar. I saw these animals just on photos and in videos, but they look really gorgeous and awesome. This big wild cat has a lot of names: puma, mountain lion, catamount, etc. It is the second-biggest cat in the world after jaguars in the South and the Northern America where they usually affect. Puma grades to cat family and mammal animals. Puma is also known as one of the most dangerous predators.

This big cat can reach 230 kg in weight and 6, 5 feet in length with a tail (approximately +30 inches long). Usually females are smaller than males. The cougar prefers rocky habitats with dense underbrush for living and hunting, but also can be found in open areas because open wounds with preys might attract it too.

These predators don’t have any homes, caves or holes unlike most of animals, but cougars have some territory where they live and sleep. A male territory is rather much bigger than female’s one and regularly overlaps two or three female’s areas. Pumas don’t look for a family and prefer to live alone. Generally they stay together just for mating. Females grow their cubs but abandon them when cubs’ spots begin to fade. Mothers teach them how to hunt and then leave them alone. Cubs live with their mothers during about 1 year.

In my opinion, puma is a beautiful and amazing creature with a kingly air. When I was younger I asked my parents to present me a tiger’s or cougar’s cub. Unfortunately, these animals are really dangerous and can attack and kill people, that’s why my dad presented me an ordinary pretty kitten and I called it Lil Puma. Actually, I want to see a cougar in real life and discover it in a natural context when I grow up. I know that’s impossible to make it domestic, but I want to try.
